We love to welcome new riders!

Trail hunting with hounds is a sport that many people are beginning to consider as an option for them. It is becoming very popular for obvious reasons! It is a great few hours out in the fresh air with your horse, the hounds, the Norfolk countryside, exercise and a really friendly, like-minded group.

At the meet, you park and get your horse organised. You will have time for a chat and a welcome drop of something for Dutch courage! Pay your fee (the cap) to one of the secretaries who will be holding a distinctive canvas collection bag.

When the Fieldmaster asks the Huntsman for "Hounds please" the Huntsman sounds his horn, the hounds gather around him and we set off.

We ride at a pace to suit everyone. Sometimes we divide into groups for faster and slower paced horses. Children, lead reins and foot followers are always welcome!

We ONLY do trail hunting. The trails are laid in advance over beautiful land with the kind permission of the owners. The hounds will keep us entertained for a wonderful few hours. You are welcome to retire at any point during the day and return to your transport.

When the day is finished and we arrive back at the meet, there is a chance to mingle and chat, and a generous array of sandwiches, cakes and refreshments (some non-alcoholic!)

If you haven't joined us before, please come along... If you are one of our regulars... Thank you for your support and see you again soon!

We have regular hunting every Tuesday and Saturday during the autumn and main seasons.

Out of season we have regular organised  Dunston Countryside Rides in wonderful countryside.         Click here to link to the Countryside Rides Facebook page.

We also have lots of fun social events. The highlight is the Hunt Ball. It's a chance to get out of your joddies and into your finest! Eat, drink, let your hair down and celebrate with The Dunston! See EVENTS PAGE
